I arrived at Dr Weavers at about 9:20 as it was going to be very hot again today, near 30C. Listened to Black Sabbath Never Say Die in the car (LOUD). A very different record. I think 5 of the 9 tracks are great though…

I had recently got two Trace Elliot bass cabinets for the studio and Martin had tested all the gear and fixed what was wrong and it was all working and sounding excellent. Powerful sound. We will not use if for our sessions today though.

My set up went pretty well and I had the mellotron again, which I was getting more used to playing now.

We ended up having 7 jams today, 4 before lunch and 3 afterwards. These were a bit longer than in July. We only did one acoustic jam dedicated to Charlie Watts and Jam 7 was bass and synths. It was a very good session except for Jam 3 where the midi and drum machines were all crazy.. Jam 5 was a super fast like 190 bpm…. It was really fun..

This particular double album kicks ass and would take a full page but suffice it to say that they are indeed great listeners, know each others strengths and each track here has it's own vibe and direction, only known in the present moment. They open up reality to make sure they are not limited by time as to see if they can achieve some sort of collective orgasmic crescendo.
