Doctors of Space Studio Session Dec 3rd, 2020

The last jam of the year, perhaps. We were not able to meet last month due to Covid travel restrictions and being stuck in our municipalities. Both of us were excited to play as the October session was one of the best we had ever had. Just some really amazing jams.

I arrived at Martin’s about 9:30.. Beautiful sunny day but a chill in the air. There was some fog on the way over but clear at my house and clear at Martin’s. Listened to Hawkwind- Psychedelic Warlords compilation on the way over to get in the mood.

Unloaded the car into the garage and started to set up the keyboard stands while Martin prepared the other stuff and the video camera as we had discussed shooting a video or two. I discovered that I did not have my small mixer! Damn.. This was not a huge problem but complicated and delayed our setting up as Martin’s mixer does not have effects and delay is crucial but luckily I had loaned Martin one of my digital delay units from Japan from the 80s but this meant my signal would be mono. Anyway, it all sounded good and we got set up and started to jam. We decided to not film the first jam but go for the 2nd one. We also filmed the 5th jam as well.

Jam 1 Robosapien 13:18
Jam 2 Tegan 19:01
Jam 3 Titular Parody 23:10
Jam 4 Network Overload 19:34
Jam 5 Fata Morgona 13:37
Jam 6 Lost Souls Synthesized 14:26

Nord Lead 2, Novation Ultranova, Custom Modular Synth, Korg Monotron, Yamaha CS-10, theremin box (into the modular).

Martin played his Jackson guitar on most of the tracks but did play his ESP stratocaster on Jam 4. He also played his custom bass to start off one of the jams. (#3). It was a great time and we enjoyed playing together very much and missed not playing in November… One of the best sessions. All the jams were quite powerful, dark and emotional. Enjoy.
